Thomas Hesketh b. 2 February 1853 Lytham St Annes, Lancashire d. 4 October 1917 Lytham St Annes married first Amelia Anne Sanderson with whom he had five children, only three surviving beyond infancy. Amelia died aged 31 giving birth to her fifth child. Their children were;
Thomas Hesketh married his second wife Elizabeth ENGLAND in 1887. Elizabeth England was a daughter (there were 16 children) of John Humphrey England who ran a very successful potato importing business. We grew up hearing of them as “the famous potato people”. Stanley was close to this brother and named his own son Tom, who was born soon after his brother died, in his memory. This Stanley was our grandfather who married Vera Halliday with whom he had two children; Uncle Tom and our mother Elizabeth. See HESKETH 2.
